Buffalo Café sits on the balcony of Victoria Falls Safari Lodge overlooking a waterhole, and reviewers come mainly for the view. Isa (April 2026) called it “one of the best sunsets I've ever seen” and noted the coffee “comes as a full pot—impossible to finish.” Russell (August 2024) had elephants show up during dinner and found the “Oxtail for dinner was excellent.”

The food is more mixed than the view. Pilar (December 2025) admitted “Foods not great, but this is the most unique dinner and sunset view I've ever had,” and specifically rejected the butternut squash ravioli, calling it “NO for me.” Paul (April 2019) found it “Very expensive, some food amazing, some food very disappointing,” and Brian (May 2026) called the food “Standard food, a bit pricey/hotel prices” after the kitchen got part of Brian's order wrong.

“This place is about the view -- you're overlooking a watering hole and can see the animals walk by - it's beautiful. We came here for lunch after the hotel's vulture feeding and it was mostly fine. The wait staff was nice though they got part of our order wrong.”

“The Buffalo Café at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is an amazing place to watch the sunset. We only had coffee, which actually comes as a full pot—impossible to finish, but a nice touch! The view over the waterhole, where animals gather and play, is absolutely stunning.”

“Nice cafe with great views of the national park. Balcony sitting with high chair and can see the sunset while drinking a cold beer. They offer reasonably priced bar food and drinks. There is vulture feeding at 1 pm each day which is very interesting to watch.”
