Café Lux

Café Lux on McChlery Avenue draws praise for its ribs, pizza and platters, and several reviewers describe it as a favourite spot in Harare. Beatrice (July 2023) called it the “best ribs in harare so far”, and Victor (August 2025) rated the pizza “The Best Pizza 🍕 piece in Town”. In a February 2023 review, Abigail named fried rice with grilled chicken breast in white sauce a favourite, and praised the delivery service for arriving on time with food “prepared to perfection”.

Some reviewers flag a dip in consistency. Tinashe TF, once a self-described regular who introduced friends to the café, wrote in a December 2022 update that “the quality of the service here has drastically declined” after most of the earlier staff had left. Ruvarashe (May 2022) liked the smoothies and milkshakes but found the quarter chicken and chips portions small, and was caught out by an unexpectedly early 4:30 closing time.

Petros (October 2022) praised the platter for one and called service “immaculate”, with polite, accommodating waiters, though Petros asked the café to list shot prices for drinks.
