The Bowery Café

The Bowery Café in Bulawayo's Suburbs draws people back for the setting as much as the food: a blue pool, green grass and shaded outdoor seating around 10 Pauling Road. Thulani (April 2026) said the coffee was “perfect; Donald really knows his craft”, and Ngqabutho (February 2026) picked out the Grilled Fish, “cooked to perfection, served with two excellent sauces and a flavorful side of rice”. Rosina (May 2025) called the Brekkie Platter “the best deal for breakfast in the city”.

Wait times come up again and again, even from happy reviewers. Vouchline (September 2025) enjoyed the Bowery Berry Bowl but noted “wait times were about 25 minutes”, and Ngqabutho, in that same February 2026 review, put service at “around 25-30 minutes”. It tips further for some: Shirley-Ann (May 2026) had a booked Mother's Day high tea go wrong, seated “outside the toilets while they looked for a table” with food that “took forever”, and Ezra (February 2026) waited nearly two hours for a Valentine's Day order that arrived cold.

Most visits still land well. Dumoluhle (January 2026) called a double beef burger “probably the best I've had in the longest time”, though balked at a $30 photoshoot fee and $15 charge for bringing a cake. The café is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00.
