Tony's is a cake shop and coffee house set in the Bvumba mountains outside Mutare, and cakes are what people drive out for. Dennis (May 2017) called it “quite simply the best coffee shop in Zimbabwe,” and Yanano (October 2025) named one cake “the best cake I've ever had in my life.” Neil (September 2025) agreed the cakes are “nothing short of exquisite.”

Individual cakes get called out by name. Paul (September 2024) recommended “the cheesecake and the orange cake,” calling them “a dream come true,” and Tineyi (May 2026) was nearly undone by the fruit cake, which “nearly made me emotional.” Janine (September 2025) worked through three slices, including a caramelised cheesecake, and rated the Café Glacé “10/10.”

“Tony explained the menu to us in great detail, very lovely hands on approach. The service was quite fast. The cakes and drinks were quite delicious. We had 3 types: Orange coconut with a chocolate custard Baked NY cheesecake in white chocolate flavour and another in Caramelised.”
