Baines sits right on the Zambezi in Victoria Falls, and the river view is the first thing most reviewers mention. Alanna (January 2026) wrote there is “nothing like sitting on their expansive deck under the African full moon,” and Mark (April 2026) watched “the full moon rise over a Zambezi river that was at record volume.” Leo (July 2026) added that the drive out includes a free game viewing that turned up “a hippo and a bush buck.”

Reviewers order widely from the menu. Cameron (July 2025) worked through crocodile cakes, pork belly and creamy lemon chicken, and liked the mashed potatoes so much “I ordered a second side of them.” Sladja (August 2025) recommended the sirloin and the chocolate pecan tart, and Natania (May 2026), dining with a group of 28, pointed to the Baines Burger and Stuffed Butternut. Staff get named individually, with Michael, Mike and Bheki earning thanks, and Chiedza (May 2026) singled out a waiter called “Present.”

A few diners have run into cold food rather than the fine dining most describe: Timothy (September 2026) got “cold toast” and hard fried eggs at breakfast, and Monika (June 2025) wrote “our dinner was cold” despite otherwise good flavour.
