Mayfair, a lodge and restaurant on the Mt Darwin Road in Bindura, gets mixed reviews on both accommodation and food. Andrasz (2025) called the restaurant “simple but tasty and well prepared”, listing “usual choice of t-bone, pork chops, chicken or fish”. Marvellous (March 2026) loved “everything about this place”, from food to rooms.

Slow service comes up repeatedly. Sydney (2023) “felt like food preparation took forever”, and Ray (2022) said food “took way to much time to come out no matter how many times you point it out and wasn't up to standard considering the cost”. Sikhangele (2023) was harsher still, saying only one staff member served the table well and would not recommend the venue.

“My stay was peaceful but I felt like food preparation took forever. Conversations with staff were polite and mechanical- disallowed need to ask for further information. There was no running water mostly despite getting a 20L bucket for all needs all day. They could improve a lot!”

“The owner needs to be serious if he intends to join the Hospitality Industry. He also needs to train his staff and only one guy who served us well under the circumstances, ever smiling. The Owner I have no comment. A place I would not recommend anyone even in my Sleep.”
