Nam Took

Nam Took is a Thai restaurant tucked upstairs at Elephant's Walk, and reviewers frequently mention how easy it is to walk past. Emily (July 2016) called it “good thai food above a small market” reached by finding the market stairs, and Calum (May 2018) described it as “suprisingly good Thai food tucked away in Vic Falls”.

The kitchen is run by a Thai owner, and several reviewers name Thuy personally. Tom (August 2018) called the food “delicious. So flavoursome and rich, and very balanced”, and spoke with chef and owner Thuy about Thuy's story, with Tom (August 2018) calling Thuy “brilliant strong and brave”. Sara (January 2018) returned daily for lunch and dinner during a week-long stay, praising the taste and cleanliness. Spice levels get a direct warning from Janine (January 2021): “Watch out hot means hot!”

The menu extends to Chinese dishes alongside Thai staples like pad thai and green curry, both called “top notch” by R in an October 2017 review. Tom's 2018 review also notes card payment is accepted, though cash is more useful for people living in Zimbabwe.
