Shangri La on Leopold Takawira Avenue is a Chinese restaurant that reviewers say rewards ordering the right dishes. Malcolm (May 2026) argued people who order shrimp and then complain are missing the point, recommending instead “dumplings, sweet & sour chicken, chicken chao mein”. Ruvarashe found the sizzling beef and garlic rice “an absolute must” in a 2024 review, and Charlene (February 2024) singled out the tofu, fried mushroom and fish fillet.

Portions and prices come up often. Karen (November 2023) called the food superb with big portions “very reasonable”, and Means (January 2024) put the chicken or beef sizzling at $10 with large quantities. “The food here is so rich in flavours! The sizzling beef and garlic rice are an absolute must! The aesthetic are quite the let down though, not much effort on that front. Lovely store on site which has lots of Chinese products to choose from.”
