The Pantry

The Pantry on Jason Moyo Street is known as much for its bakery counter as its menu. Chidziya (August 2024) called the Deluxe Salad “rich and mazing”, and said the bakery section stocks stuffed doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, muffins and cheesecake tubs. Michael (May 2021) tried the half chicken and chips, bream, buffalo wings and chicken salad and said “All of it was sooo goood”, with the chicken salad Michael's favourite.

The mini burgers, loaded fries and chicken strips get praised too: Rosemond (June 2024) called the order “well seasoned, hot and a fair portion”, though flies in the dining area put Rosemond off eating in. Ntandoyenkosi (May 2022) found the rump steak “felt like the same old you'd get round the block” and said the steak “wasn't utensil friendly”.

Service is the recurring complaint. Several reviewers, including Ntandoyenkosi and Mpumelelo (September 2022), had orders forgotten or slow, and more than one asked for a small bar so drinkers have something to do while waiting. Julie (August 2025) simply wrote that “They need to improve their service”.
