Vegan and vegetarian travellers repeatedly call Social Kitchen a rare find in Victoria Falls. Donald (February 2026) recommended it for “solid, vegan friendly food at less-than-inflated prices”, and Patricia (July 2026) was glad the kitchen actually stocked the vegan items other spots in town had listed but run out of. Alison (December 2025) called the veggie burger “definitely homemade and outstanding”.

The sadza & nyama and Portuguese chicken are the local favourites, and service gets warm, specific praise: several reviewers thank servers Milo, Chiedza and Edith by name for standing out on a visit. Isa (April 2026) singled out the Portuguese chicken as “absolutely delicious and one of the tastiest dishes I had in Victoria Falls”.

One diner had a sharply different experience in August 2026, sent a well-done steak instead of medium rare and charged full price after the kitchen insisted it was correct. It is an outlier against a run of five-star visits for the pizza, milkshakes and outdoor seating a short taxi ride from the town centre.

“Restaurant has good ambience. The peri peri chicken was good, the sides (salad and fries) were also good. However, the steak we ordered were terrible. We ordered for a medium rare, and we were served well done. It was so dry and I cannot even cut it.”
