Moira Jane's Blue Bird Cafe

Moira Jane's Blue Bird Cafe on Robertson Street is a breakfast and lunch spot that regulars return to on every trip through Masvingo. Hamish (May 2025) has travelled from Scotland two or three times a year for over a decade and calls it “best place to eat in Masvingo by a mile”, with owner Moira and staff “always spot on , real and friendly”. Jochen (October 2022) was surprised to find a proper sit-down restaurant in town at all, since it only serves breakfast and no dinner.

The steak roll gets a specific shout from Cat (October 2022), who called it “SUPERB” on comfy padded benches, and Kudakwashe (January 2025) worked through the Full Ranch House Breakfast, calling it “a whole day meal indeed”. Service is warm throughout, though not always fast: Wayne (December 2024) found the food decent but had to walk up to get attention, while praising owner Moira as “kind and concerned”. Makaita's 2024 review attributed a similar slow start to an early arrival and a large group.

The cafe has an outdoor terrace and a second-hand shop worth a look, per Keith (May 2023). It runs Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, Saturday 8am to 2pm, and is closed Sunday.
