Amanzi sits inside Amanzi Lodge in Kambanji, and reviewers treat it as a destination for birthdays and date nights as much as dinner. Liz (September 2025) “loved the pond and bull frogs out front”, and Anotida (June 2026) called a birthday stay there wonderful, from the room to the restaurant itself.

The menu, which runs from dumplings and laksa to sticky pork belly and dry-aged steak, gets mixed but mostly positive marks. Simba (2025) rated the ribeye “a solid 6/10” because of the crust, but found the pork belly “perfectly pulled” and worth coming back for on its own. Rachel (November 2024) loves “all the dishes on the menu from start to dessert”, and Sean (September 2023) called it one of the best meals in Harare, though Sean felt “the training was there, just not fluent yet” with the waiting staff.

Dinner can take a while to arrive: Avinash (February 2019) said the food took a while to come but was “definitely worth it”. Amanzi opens Tuesday to Friday from midday, and evenings only on Monday and Saturday; it is closed on Sunday.

“This is a lovely venue that is slightly priced above average. The range of food is not the most exciting. I had the dumplings as a starter which were good but not amazing then I had the RibEye which was a solid 6/10. The crust wasn't the best which let the steak down.”

“Loved our meal here. Nice stop at the bar before being seated. Really good interesting fit-out and facilities. Eclectic menu, both courses for both of us were great. Service was really well meaning, and when the waiters have a bit more experience it will be excellent.”
