Maki Sushi on Quorn Avenue has built a following on fresh salmon despite Zimbabwe being landlocked. Anotida, in 2024, called it “my favorite sushi place in Harare hands down”, surprised the salmon stays “very fresh”, and named the Volcano, Shrimp Rock and Rock and Roll as favourites. Ruvarashe, in 2023, went for the 12-piece platter and “thoroughly loved the maki, California rolls and crunchy maki”.

Not every roll lands perfectly. Rosemond, in 2024, rated the platter 8/10 overall but found the mayonnaise on a salmon roll tasted “almost stale”. Tendai, in 2023, mixed up wasabi for avocado and found it “actually so so so spicy”, but still recommends the blueberry cheesecake, calling it “so delish”.

“I am obsessed! I've tried out lots of sushi place and this is top 3 for sure. I went for the 12 piece platter and thoroughly loved the maki, California rolls and crunchy maki. The aesthetics are quite cute and the service is great! Prices are also very fair, I recommend.”
