Tamuka (October 2025) ordered one at a Sofar Sounds event and found it “a delicious, wood-fire oven, thin crust, meaty pizza” for $18. Veronica (2025) found the Pulled Pork and Pineapple pizza “dry” but preferred the waiter-recommended Giovanni, a beef brisket pizza that turned out “juicy.”

Service is the complaint that follows the venue across its different iterations. Tamuka (October 2025) said “The service unfortunately seems to be a constant gripe with the venue throughout it's lifespan and different iterations,” since “Drinks took forever, always having to chase up the waiters and bar staff for our orders.” Gemma (2025) still rates the newer menu highly, citing “Great tapas, mains and pizza” and “AMAZING homemade gelato” among vegetarian and vegan options in a large garden.

“Attended a Sofar Sounds event featuring Tahle, Noluntu J with a group of friends.. I'm a big fan of the Sofar platform and Mara Mara is a great venue for this type of event. The crowd was vibey, the lineup left no crumbs and and event was well-run.”

“For our main meals we had the Pulled Pork and Pineapple Pizza. My date said it was like a private school Hawaiian pizza, just with pulled pork. I can’t lie, I tasted it-dry💀from the base to the toppings, the pineapple-I’m so sorry. We thankfully also had the Giovanni Piza.”
