King's Courtyard sits in the Vumba highlands outside Mutare, and reviewers keep coming back to the breakfast and the views. Young (April 2024) rated the breakfast “10/10”, and Munatsi (May 2024) enjoyed “the Kings breakfast” served with friendly staff. Sussanah (December 2021) called the food “first class”.

Staff, especially a receptionist named Chiedza, get thanked by name across several reviews for going out of their way for guests. Munatsi credited Chiedza with returning left-behind clothing, and HG (April 2024) said Chiedza “epitomizes hospitality and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay”.

Not every stay matches the main lodge experience. Wisdom (January 2025) stayed at the Havillah extension over Christmas 2024 and found some menu items, “including oxtail and beef fillet, were unavailable during our stay”, while still rating the staff a full 5 out of 5. King's Courtyard is on Laurenceville Road in Bvumba.
