Lomagundi Lakeside sits on Lake Kariba, and the wildlife wandering through the grounds is what most reviewers mention first: zebra, hippo, elephant and bushbuck turn up between the chalets and the pool. Ruth (August 2018) described “Abundant birdlife with hippos zebras bushbuck sometimes right in the complex”.

The onsite Dome Restaurant serves a basic but reliable menu. Neil (October 2023) recommended the “great fish and chips fresh from the lake”, and Linda (July 2023) had a full breakfast, calling it wonderful, with fast service on a quiet Sunday. Trevor (May 2026) found the meals well executed alongside comfortable rooms and a clean pool.

Camping and ablutions are more mixed. Sonya (May 2026) liked the level pitches, water and power hookups but found the ablutions “a bit dated”, with hot water in only one shower block. “Please stop in. The Dome Restaurant is excellent. Good value food, great fish and chips fresh from the lake, service with a smile. If you are lucky enough you may even see a passing Zebra or elephant herd.”

“This was a nice camp, it's a really useful stop when using the Kariba border. We had a nice camp (we were the only campers), drinking water and electric hook up as well as Econet signal.”
