Succydee (March 2022) described the routine: “Everyday, like clockwork, the Zebras would pass through in the morning, elephants later in the afternoon, and the hippos from early evening”. Others mention crocodiles, waterbuck and an elephant bull wandering along Powerlines Road.

The kitchen serves burgers, steak and camp-style grills, and Tracey (November 2025) said “they make delicious burgers and really good steak”. Two reviewers, a year apart, flagged the same issue with pace: Fyodor (November 2022) wrote “The kitchen was a little slow”, and Wadzanai (October 2022) said “the service was very slow considering that it was rush hour but the food was worth the wait”.

“I rate Warthog’s 4.5 out of 5. It’s a really good place with a beautiful view of the lake and the animals. We went there the other day and saw water bugs, zebras, and even hippos out of the water. The whole scene by the lake was just so peaceful and beautiful.”

“Definitely recommend the place. It’s easy to get here. They offer different ‘accommodation’ types such as safari tents, tents, camping areas and areas that can accommodate RVs. There power at most if not all sites. Fresh drinkable water and braai facilities.”

“Excellent camp facility. I stayed in the Deluxe Family Tent. It was adequate, and clean. The staff were very helpful. The kitchen was a little slow, but this is my only complaint. The food was very delicious.”
